Inclusion
Our commitment to the inclusion of all children
We firmly believe that diversity enriches community life, and that inclusive care benefits every child. Our priority is to support each child in fully thriving within the crèche setting, by valuing their unique strengths and respecting their individual pace.
In line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the Wayenberg crèche is fully committed to the inclusion of all children, regardless of their background or specific needs. With this goal in mind, we make every effort to ensure a welcoming, tailored, and respectful environment that supports each child’s development. Our inclusion policy specifically aims to facilitate the integration of children with disabilities or special needs.
When specific support is required, an Individual Hospitality Project (IAP) is established in close collaboration with the family, healthcare professionals, the educational team, and the caretakers. This document, discussed with the parents, outlines the care arrangements, identifies the child’s needs, and specifies the accommodations to be implemented in daily routines. In practice, this may involve material adjustments (adapted furniture, dedicated rest areas), pedagogical adaptations (individualized schedules, targeted activities), and, when necessary, the deployment of additional human resources to support the child within the group.
This approach ensures that each child can grow and learn in a secure, stimulating, and inclusive environment, right alongside their peers.
